Elizabeta Vršnik completed her master's degree in social and cultural anthropology at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana in 2024. During her studies, she participated twice in a one-year exchange program at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna. Since 2024, she has been a research assistant at the Anton Melik Geographical Institute and a doctoral student at the ZRC SAZU Graduate School. Her research work lies at the intersection of geography and anthropology, focusing primarily on the study of Alpine landscapes and pastoralism.
Elizabeta Vršnik holds a master's degree in social and cultural anthropology from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana, and completed her second year as part of the CREOLE program at the Institute for Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna. After her studies, she did a four-month Erasmus internship at the Slovenian Embassy in Berlin at the Slovenian Cultural Center SKICA and has attended the European Forum Alpbach several times. Since 2024 she has been a research assistant at the Anton Melik Geographical Institute and a doctoral student at the ZRC SAZU Graduate School, module Human geography.
Her research focuses on Alpine cultural landscapes, particularly mountain pasture farming. Her doctoral research focuses on the study of common mountain pastures in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps in relation to contemporary institutional frameworks.
She is a member of the executive committee of the Ljubljana Geographical Society and a member of the board of the club Alpbach Senza Confini.
