This playbook, developed in collaboration with partners in the Single Market Programme project LookUP, focuses on enhancing support for tourism and other rural activities, specifically in birdwatching, astronomy, and stargazing. The LookUP project, funded by the European Union, aims to support businesses by promoting sustainability, digitalization, and resilience. The playbook provides definitions and methods for implementing these concepts in businesses, targeting entrepreneurs and stakeholders interested in these aspects. It highlights the contributions of sustainability, digitalization, and resilience to business development, offering examples from four EU countries: Finland, Romania, Slovenia, and Spain. By showcasing real-world applications of these concepts, the playbook aims to inspire readers to pursue development in these directions despite challenges. The overarching goal is to empower local communities, popularize science, and preserve cultural, environmental, historical, ethnographic, and biological elements for a more sustainable development of Europe. The playbook concludes with relevant contributions and web resources to further assist businesses in adopting these principles.
